1821Evan Howell first settles area 1833Area christened Howell's Cross Roads. 1876Town receives charter, the fourth oldest chartered city in Gwinnett County. 1906City of Duluth officially incorporates. 1922Duluth elects Georgia’s first woman mayor, Mrs. Alice Strickland. 1943Duluth built the first hospital in Gwinnett County
